Dear Firstborn, What joy we felt the day we learned That you were on the way! The happiness within our hearts Was more than we can say. The firstborn child has obstacles That must be overcome- There's so much inexperience In its brand-new dad and mom. We had never been parents before, But we did our very best, And you're turning out quite well So I believe we've passed the test. You can only have one "firstborn" child And for us that one was you.
